Britt Daniel

Dr. Britt Daniel was born in Athens, Georgia, the second son of a United States Air Force officer, and an elementary school administrator. Because his father’s military career required frequent moves, he attended schools in several states.

Dr. Daniel graduated with honors from Summerville High School in 1990 among a class of more than 600 students. In 1994, he graduated from The Citadel, where he served as an officer in the Regimental Band and Pipes and was privileged to perform for two U.S. presidents, two U.S. senators, The Commandant of the Marine Corps, and countless British dignitaries.

Following his Citadel experience, Dr. Daniel traveled the well-worn path from Charleston to Columbia where he earned a law degree from the Joseph F. Rice School of Law in 1998. Having passed the bar exam in South Carolina, he acquiesced to his wife’s request to return “home” to Georgia with the understanding that he would teach English for a year while studying for the Georgia bar.

Finding that he has a genuine passion for the military model of education, Dr. Daniel has served Riverside Prep for more than 25 years in several capacities, to include: 7 years as an English teacher; 5 years as the Chairman of the English Department; 2 years as the Assistant Academic Dean; 2 years as the Academic Dean; 9 years as Executive Vice President, and in his present capacity as the President since July of 2024.

Dr. Daniel has been a presenter at the Georgia Independent School Association’s Annual Conference and a frequent contributor to Reveille, the Academy’s own magazine, which is published annually.

He makes his home in Jefferson, Georgia, with his wife, Robin Daniel, the Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Manager at Jackson EMC. His daughter, Maddie, is a graduate of the University of Georgia, while his son, Robb, a 2021 graduate of Riverside Prep, is now a student at the University of North Georgia.
