Jefferson Brant

I serve as the Dean of St. Dominic School (SDS), a K-8 independent school for boys in Memphis, TN. SDS is part of the St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School community, which is an independent school founded in the Dominican Catholic tradition. I first entered into the independent school field to pursue my love for teaching and coaching following the completion of my graduate studies in history. All the good work that is part of independent school education has since grown into a genuine vocation for me, and I have continued to seek out opportunities to engage, learn, and grow in our field. I first transitioned into a position of formal school leadership as Chair of our History Department before moving into the role of Dean of Faculty at the Episcopal School of Jacksonville. My family and I relocated to Memphis when I took on my current role as Dean at SDS beginning in July 2024. I value the potential for good that resides in any well-directed independent school, and I'm excited and energized for all the good work ahead of us at SDS!
