Professional Bio

Courtney brings over 20 years of experience in education from the youngest ages through adults. She is an educational leader who is passionate about creating joyful, engaging learning experiences in an inclusive and diverse environment.

Courtney has been an educational entrepreneur in the STEM fields, an elementary and middle school science educator, and an assistant principal for grades 4-8. She is now a Middle School Head leading a team of 20 educators and over 150 student families.

Rounding out her experience, she raised over $1.3 million in annual, recurring revenue as a Development Specialist. As Director of Admission and Financial Aid for two years, she grew admissions 10% two times year over year and stewarded a budget of $1.5 million. This included two scholarship endowments while building three new scholarship partnerships, and maximizing state tax credit funding programs. She has experience interfacing with board governance, facilitating board committees and making monthly reports.

Moreover, Courtney enjoys collaborating and building teams to achieve shared goals. She has worked with teams on goals around student engagement, reading comprehension, and establishing advisory programs. Her focus now as a middle school leader is on positive engaged culture and mini observations for teacher coaching and growth.

Her favorite part of education, however, is the time she gets to be in the classroom or interacting with students of all levels. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
