Professional Bio
Dr. Maggie Renken is a Consultant at Independent School Management (ISM) with deep expertise in the learning sciences and a passion for building meaningful, growth-centered school experiences. She advises school leaders on academic strategic planning, curriculum development, and human-centered innovation.
A nationally-recognized expert, Maggie consults in responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption in both academic and operational contexts, and leads workshops on innovation, learning sciences, and the future of learning and technology in education. She emphasizes a coaching-centered, human-focused mindset in all her work, with a primary goal of helping teams design and evaluate optimal experiences for growth.
Prior to joining ISM in 2025, Maggie served as Director of Modern Learning at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, where she led schoolwide academic innovation and STEAM programming. She was also a tenured associate professor at Georgia State University, where she directed the Educational Psychology program and led federally-funded research on technology-enhanced learning. Maggie holds a Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the University of Wyoming.
