Professional Bio

My professional education experience began with earning a B.S. in Early Childhood Education with a Reading Endorsement from Kennesaw State University. During my undergraduate years, I gained valuable experience as a preschool teacher and a dance instructor for students with Down syndrome.
After graduating, I became a public-school teacher, working with both general and special education students. While teaching, I graduated with my M.Ed. in Special Education and a Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia from the University of Georgia.
A move to South Carolina led me to Trident Academy; a school for students with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dycalculia. I began as an Orton-Gillingham practitioner and quickly delved into curriculum support. I updated and restructured the standards to progress and support our students, authored the Trident Academy Teaching Targets for grades 1-8, and advanced the curriculum committee.
My dedication to directly impacting students remains strong, as I continue to serve as an Orton-Gillingham practitioner. In addition, my role at Trident Academy has expanded to Curriculum Coordinator, overseeing curriculum development and supporting teachers with instructional pacing and resource acquisition.
