Professional Bio
Steve was raised and educated in North Carolina and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology—training that often comes in handy when navigating the many constituencies of independent schools. Since 2008, he has served schools across the state as a teacher, coach, and administrator. In 2022, he joined Greenfield School, where he serves as Associate Head of School and Upper School Division Head. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Steve teaches AP African American Studies, sponsors the DEI Club, and enjoys serving on SAIS accreditation teams. Working in independent schools is a family affair, as Steve’s wife, Jen, teaches fourth grade at Greenfield, and their three children—Braydon (Class of 2036), Addy (Class of 2038), and Jackson (Class of 2040)—are also proud Knights. Together, the Manna family is deeply invested in the life of the school, and Steve remains committed to strengthening the culture of independent schools as places where students, teachers, and families grow together.
