Sarah Barton Thomas

Sarah's twenty-four-year teaching and learning journey has led her from the music classroom, the opera world, the computer lab, and the coaching field to the principal’s desk and the leadership table. She was an NAIS Teacher of the Future for 2014–2015 and has grown her brain through classes at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Klingenstein Summer Institute. She was also an OPERA America Fellow for Education in 2002.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Vocal Music Education and obtained her Master of Science in Education in School Administration from Johns Hopkins University. She is a third-year doctoral student pursuing a Doctor of Educational Ministry in Educational Leadership at Virginia Theological Seminary.

Sarah lives a full life beyond the classroom as a runner, singer, reader, coffee drinker, Aunt, and Dog mom.
