Early Career Teacher Mentorship Program

Early Career Teacher Mentorship Program

Wednesday, August 14, 2024 to Wednesday, May 21, 2025

Early-career educators are juggling so many new things – classroom management, curriculum, the culture of a new school, parents, and more. The Early Career Teacher Mentorship Program (ECTMP) supports new teachers by providing year-long virtual support from experienced independent school educators. The program will give teachers the space to learn core skills, gain confidence, and improve their practice while building relationships with other early-career educators.

This virtual program will be valuable to any teachers in the first three years of teaching, and includes both asynchronous learning modules (timely topics each month) and synchronous cohort-based dialogues. Each cohort is facilitated by an experienced educator/mentor and groups are intentionally small (capped at 12 teachers).

ECTMP consists of 6-7 asynchronous modules and 8 synchronous cohort meetings.

Asynchronous modules are self-paced, 1-2 hours each, focusing on the following topics:

  • Introduction and overview
  • Classroom culture
  • Planning instruction
  • Instructional strategies & techniques
  • Assessment
  • Review, reflect, renew
  • Observations of and feedback on practice
  • The classroom as a community of diverse learners (integrated throughout the modules)

Synchronous cohort meetings are times for connection, focus on emergent issues and questions, case studies, and other relevant modes for reflection, application, and support on everything from communicating with parents to managing workflow and organization. Experienced teacher mentors facilitate these sessions.

Teachers may also enroll in 1-1 coaching sessions with their mentor, for a total of (8) 45-minute Zoom sessions throughout the year.

Supervisors of participating teachers may have up to one 30-minute check-in with Trey Education mentors or representatives each semester.

This program is hosted by Trey Education.
